I’ve got a new essay, “To the Christian Writer,” up today with Current. Many thanks, as always, to John, Robert, Eric, Sarah, Nadya, and all Current’s editorial staff. Thanks for reading!
And, if you’re a writer who is also Christian, it’s time to stop with Lewis and Tolkein and Chesterton and MacDonald and, a little bit, O’Connor. If you live in Chattanooga or Knoxville, raid your shelves, box up all the stuff you have that they’ve written, and take it to McKay’s. Take yourself out to a fancy restaurant next, because I bet you’ll have a gripload of cash. Afterward, grab your Moleskine and wander downtown. Watch the hotshot desperadoes in gas-guzzlin’ road galleons whiz past the mad poor under their rotten sleeping bags. Give it a minute. Then, write something.
I'm hanging on to my books, but I hear what you're saying. Thanks for the admonition.
Fabulous.
