I don’t know which to prefer, the lead up to Christmas or the lead up to the start of the baseball season. Truthfully, it’s probably the latter. No offense, Santa. But I think there is no anticipation so singular and so delicious as the one which precedes the beginning of a brand new baseball season.
I’m always thinking about baseball and sometimes the thoughts congeal into a piece of writing. Here’s a new one, an essay/monologue called “Johnson Throws the Knuckleball.” Up today at Current. As ever, I am grateful to Eric Miller, Robert Barham, John Fea, and the entire Current team for graciously considering my stuff. And to you, if you read it, thank you!
Love me some good baseball writing! Very enjoyable read.
