There’s this British band IDLES and they’re great. They have a song called “Danny Nedelko,” which is a fantastic punch in the mind to all cowards, especially the American cowards, afraid of immigrants. Watch to the end. There’s crying in punk rock. I think they get it, the crowd, the band. Hatred for an other, any other, can’t last, can’t ever do any good, can’t contain the seeds of a well-grown tomorrow.
It comes in white robes, but it mostly comes in silence. It signifies, for those who hate or sanction hatred by their words or with their votes and especially with their unwillingness to speak up, a strange desire for annihilation. A bizarre statement along the lines of, “Our group wishes we were no longer human.”
"My blood brother is an immigrant…"
Was that the guy's wife at the end, holding their kid in one of those baby carriers? That's so cool.
Beautiful stuff, man.
