Announcements!
Stuff comin' up
When I was a kid, I went to summer camp. Every morning, they had announcements, where the camp director would tell all us campers all the important stuff for that day, like the archery range hours or don’t forget the buddy system when you’re down by the lake. Anyway, there was as song. “Announcements, announcements, ah-NOOOWWW-ence-ments! A terrible death to die, a terrible death to die, a terrible death to talk to death, a terrible death to die!” Everybody, the whole assembled camp, would sing it first, then the announcements would follow. So now, whenever I write the word “announcements” that song zips through my head. So, sing the song if you know it and here are the announcements:
First, many thanks to Michele McDannold with The Literary Underground for accepting my story “A Few Quick Things.” It’s up today, and you can read it here if you want.
Second, I’m thrilled to be a part of this reading tomorrow night (Friday, 10/24/25.) Me, Dana Shavin, Kris Whorton, Andrew Najberg, and Callie Sioux. At the 44th Street Arts Center (4401 W. St. Elmo Ave.) in St. Elmo, from 6:30PM - 8:30PM. I’d love to see you there!
Third, I’m also thrilled to be part of the Chattanooga Public Library’s Local Authors’ Fair. I’ll be there, alongside a bunch of other exceedingly talented writers, reading and selling books! (←My own books. Not, like, swiping books off the library’s shelves and hawking them in the alley. Though, this country could probably benefit a lot from a more robust black market book trade..) The fair is at the downtown branch (1001 Broad St., Chattanooga), 11AM - 3PM. Come on out!
That’s it. For now. Thanks!
